For its sorting awareness campaign, the Grand Belfort needed a professional tent capable of following all their field actions: markets, local events, interventions in neighborhoods, special operations around waste disposal sites…
The needs of Grand Belfort
The challenges were clear:
- Visibility: ensuring the event area stood out immediately amongst the other stands.
- Education: providing clear guidance on how to sort waste correctly.
- Mobility: enabling a small technical team or field staff to set up and dismantle the folding tent quickly.
- Durability & safety: to withstand adverse weather conditions whilst complying with CTS standards for public events.
They were therefore looking for a pop up gazebo that was customised, sturdy and suitable for frequent use throughout the year.
The Vitabri solution: a 3 x 4.50 m V3 marquee – portable and secure
We recommended a 3 x 4.50 m V3 marquee: a compact size, yet spacious enough to accommodate furniture (activity tables, recycling bins, educational displays) and welcome visitors.
The V3 is a professional pop up gazebo designed for intensive use:
- A lightweight yet highly durable aluminium frame.
- Quick assembly without tools.
- M2-rated (fire-retardant) fabric to comply with regulations for public access buildings and public events.
- Anchoring solutions for wind safety (to be adjusted according to local requirements and weather conditions at the installation site).
This choice provides the Grand Belfort with a versatile, professional gazebo: the structure can be used open, with open sides, or fully enclosed depending on its intended use (information, entertainment, temporary storage of equipment, etc.).
As is always the case with Vitabri, the marquee is repairable: spare parts (legs, cross-braces, connecting pieces, etc.) can be easily replaced by our after-sales service, which extends its lifespan and optimises costs in the long term.
Educational graphics based on Kitritou
On this V3 folding tent , the Grand Belfort region has chosen to make graphic design a true educational tool, relying on a strong mascot: Kitritou , the squirrel expert in sorting. The entire visual design is built around him to capture the attention of both children and adults.
The blue-green background provides a simple and contemporary base that highlights the key elements: Kitritou in bright orange, the green leaves, the white bubbles and the recycling bin pictograms.
The messages are short and immediately legible: “Learn all about recycling with Kitritou!”, “The recycling experts are here”, or highlighting “good everyday habits”. This visual hierarchy was designed to be seen from a distance during an event.
High-definition printing for a durable, professional marquee
The custom folding tent is printed in high-definition four-color process from vector files provided by Grand Belfort. This ensures crisp outlines for the mascot, consistent color coverage, and perfect reproduction of details (character expressions, bin icons, logos). The inks used are suitable for outdoor use: they offer good resistance to UV rays, weathering, and repeated handling of the professional tent .
We also worked on the placement of the visuals so that Kitritou would be visible on the roof, banners and walls, creating 360° visibility. No matter the angle from which the public approached, the “sorting” message and the mascot remain immediately identifiable: the tent thus becomes a strong visual landmark at every field operation.
Cutting: precision and optimization of the canvas
The cutting phase is essential to ensure a pop up gazebo perfectly fitted to the V3 structure.
For the Grand Belfort, each element of the tent was cut out:
-
Digitally , for millimeter-level precision in dimensions.
-
Taking into account areas of tension (corners, roof peak, friction area) to avoid excessive creases or print distortions.
-
With an optimization of the material , in order to reduce waste and to be part of a more responsible approach.
This precision allows us to obtain a canvas that fits perfectly on the folding tent , remains taut, and showcases the print without distortion.
Sewing/tailoring: the finishing touch that makes all the difference
Finally, the manufacturing is carried out in our workshops, with the level of requirement that characterizes Vitabri marquees.
On this V3 3 x 4.50 m project, we have notably worked on:
-
Reinforced seams in stress areas (corners, attachment points).
-
Reinforcements to improve the durability of the canvas with repeated assembly/disassembly.
-
Careful integration of fastening systems (Velcro, straps, closures, etc.) for smooth and intuitive assembly.
This manufacturing step guarantees a folding gazebo that can withstand frequent handling, repeated exposure to wind and rain, while remaining aesthetic and professional.
Why is this V3 gazebo a real asset for Grand Belfort?
With this customized V3 3 x 4.50 m gazebo , the Grand Belfort now has a truly mobile tool for raising awareness about recycling :
-
a robust and secure folding tent , compliant with M2 / CTS standards ;
-
a clear and visible communication medium, perfectly aligned with their campaign;
-
durable, repairable equipment, supported by Vitabri after-sales service and the availability of spare parts .
A good example of how a customized professional marquee can become much more than just a shelter: a space for exchange, education and promoting the commitments of a territory.
